Emily Patterson is a British born portrait and social documentary photographer.Known for her portraiture and social documentary artwork, she seeks to explore the complex relationship between subject and photographer.
Emily has acquired various skills from post-production such as; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Illustrator. "Photography has always been apart of my everyday life, whither it was of nature, food or of my friends I was always talking photos. Since I began studying photography as an A-level student in college, I have always had volumes of passion for this relatively new art form, growing up in a time where photography started becoming a part of everyone’s lives. Studying photography since A-level has taught me not only about how to take a photograph, it has taught me how to incorporate my creativeness into a body of work which will speak to someone on a personal level. This is what I want to achieve with my work. However, there will always be room for improvement no matter the level you are at. Working with a range of artistic creators throughout my current education has taught me that there is a lot more I would like to do with my work, different approaches to my current work to entirely different themes in photography altogether." - Emily Patterson |
